Rationale Statement
Statement of Standard Eight- Communication
“Teachers shall use knowledge of effective verbal, nonverbal and written communication techniques and the tools of information literacy to foster the use of inquiry, collaboration and supportive interactions ”. (NJPTSB, 2004, pg. 16)
Name of Artifact: E-portfolio
Date of Artifact: 5/2/13
Course: Education Field Experience EDUC 230-02
Rationale Statement:
My e-portfolio connects to the communication standard because it serves as a great way of communication between future employers, my coworkers, parents, students and me. Additionally, it provides a door to my professional work and personal experiences. Additionally, my e-portfolio allows me to share my teaching philosophy, which provides an open communication of what kind of professional I want to be, and what kind of education I want to provide to my students. Sharing and communicating to others my personal thoughts makes this e-portfolio connect to standard eight because that’s what it is all about, communicating and sharing my professional experience, techniques and tools learned throughout my career.
While completing my e-portfolio during this semester I learned so much about education and how important is to communicate my ideas the best possible way. My ideas have to be concise and clear in order for others to receive my message the way it I mean it.
In the future, my e-portfolio will serve me in many ways. It will provide me the opportunity to share with others my professional work and portray what I believe in. It will also help me introduce myself to others in a professional manner. Additionally, I will keep a record of my first experience as a pre-professional and the projects and artifacts I made.
